Black like Me: Powerful drama based on real history of journalist who took drugs that permitted him to pass for black so he might experience racial prejudice first hand. Some facets of presentation are un-contemporary, although topics are still pertinent. Cast includes James Whitmore, Roscoe Lee Browne, Lenka Petersen, Sorrell Booke, Can Geer, Al Freeman, and Raymond Jacques. (107 minutes,’64)

Dream Warriors: When agitated kids in a psychiatric clinic find they are being visited in their dreams by the giggling, murderous figure of Freddy Krueger, Nancy Langenkamp, the survivor of the first film and now a psychiatrist, helps another physician and the terrified adolescents battle Freddy. Well written and imaginatively prompted, this is the best of the Elm Road films. Cast includes Heather Langenkamp, Patricia Arquette, Larry Fishburne, Priscilla Arrow, Brooke Bundy, Dick Cavett, and Zsa Zsa Gabor. (78 minutes,’87)

Ruby Gentry: Turgid, strolling account of a simple Southerner (Jones) wedding the wealthy Malden to spite Heston, the guy she really loves. Cast includes Jennifer Jones, Charlton Heston, Karl Malden, and Josephine Hutchinson. (82 minutes,’52)

Barefoot in the Park: A plot less flick in which amusing Neil Simon comedy finds Fonda and Redford newlyweds in a 5 story walk up condo. Redford and Natwick reconstruct their Broadway roles. Cast includes Robert Redford, Jane Fonda, Charles Boyer, Mildred Natwick, Herb Edelman, Mabel Albertson, Fritz Feld, and Doris Roberts. (105 minutes,’67)

The Foxes of Harrow: Lavish however lumbering story of philanderer breaking up his marriage to seek wealth and fame in New Orleans in’20. Cast includes Rex Harrison, Maureen O’Hara, Richard Haydn, Champ McLaglen, Vanessa Brown, Patricia Medina, and Gene Lockhart. (117 minutes,’47)

Airport: Weak, later Laurel and Hardy comedy. One conceivably excellent scene with dull-burn as director Kennedy doesn’t meet his normal high standards. Cast includes Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Edgar Kennedy, Jacqueline White, Horace Stephen McNally, and Donald Modest. (67 minutes,’43)

Night of the Blood Monster: Lee is fine as Magistrate Jeffrey’s who is a vicious judge presiding over “Bloody Assizes” after the Monmouth Revolt opposing Baron James II. The film itself is monotonous and grisly. Cast includes Christopher Lee, Maria Schell, Leo Genn, Maria Rohm, and Margaret Lee. (84 minutes,’70)
